(Song: Window by The Album Leaf) One of the most inspirational speeches in recorded history was given by a comedian by the name of Charlie Chaplin. Very relevant to our day! Please watch.
Those in Congress who work so hard at keeping the have nots where they are ought to internalize this. But they never will. Too many lobbyists on their doorsteps.
This is the whole philosophy of the occupy movement.
Which is why I totally understand the Occupy movement and support it where I can. We're not looking for a handout. We're just looking to even the playing field for everyone.
Even the playing field by re-doing the tax code. Ever wonder how many billion dollar enterprises don't pay a penny in taxes? And then Congress goes around hollering about people getting less social security. Assholes. A good portion of them, that is.
I totally agree @pollypinks
And how about this. Over 2 million Iraqi's are considered refugees in their own homeland due to the war effort. Nobody ever talks about this stuff.
Ron Paul??? Seriously??? On pills today?
Oh come on, you think I like killing brown people? My children are biracial. I love it when people try to engage me in racism, since I gave birth to brown people. And health care? Are you shitting me? The leading cause of bankruptcy is medical bills. Americans think they aren't paying for anyone else, but every time they go to the hospital, which is highly over priced, they are paying for people who couldn't pay their bills. Well over 60 million without health insurance means you don't go to the doctor for preventative care, don't go when you should, go to the E.R. for emergencies yet can't pay that bill to boot. Do you think America has the best health care? It doesn't. I live here. I spent 15 years traipsing from one doctor to another trying to get help for undiagnosed autoimmune diseases, and wound up nearly bankrupt, with still no help. Except a constantly looming bill that threatened us at all times, ruined our credit report, and kept me away from specialists because you have to drop at least $300 for the first visit to one of those folks. And if you ever want to hear about the number of children in school who never see a dentist in this country, give me a ring. If your employer doesn't provide some sort of insurance, in my state, the deductible for each of 3 insurances offered is $7500 per year. So when they talk about forced health care, they're full of shit, because everyone in Congress has a juicy health insurance policy that nobody, and I mean nobody else in this country gets. And I say since we are so good at spending money to kill people, why the fuck don't we spend that money on health care for our own citizens. Gee, I think that's too difficult to imagine... Kill people, provide health care. Kill people.......
Peace out to you as well. Of course Ron Paul doesn't want everyone to get health care. He's a doctor for Chrissakes. He's spent decades co-sponsoring bills in the Senate, but I can't find where anything ever passed. He's against earmarks, which I think most of us are, unless we live in Alaska, but he's not been against earmarking any of his bills for Texas. I don't trust any of those people. I do like to look at their records and how much they've actually attempted to do for the working class have nots. I agree with Paul on abolishing the income tax, but I dare say, that'll never happen. All my evangelist friends voted for dubya because he said he was pro-life, and look at the lives lost because of him, and look at the lives ruined financially in this country because of his policies. They always say pro-life, but they only mean that until the kid is born, and they they basically believe in screwing you six ways to Sunday. If I was rich I'd be a republican too, but I'm not. I am a fan of Eleanor Roosevelt. And I hate to see children suffer because of Washington politics. I hope you are content where you live. People in my state have suggested I move, but hell, I was born here. My ancestors came over on the William and steven boat. 3 fought in the Revolutionary war, and at least that many that I can find fought in the Civl war, so I think I ought to be able to live here and voice my opinion, but there are many in my conservative state who think I don't belong.
