I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, also known as the Mormon Church, and remember its influence in my life from a very young age. I grew up in a family that had its share of problems, as does any family, but my parents taught us the principles and doctrine of the church and we always had strong religious role models that were big parts of our lives. I was baptized at the age of 8 despite not really knowing or understanding if I had ever received a confirmation of the truthfulness of the church. I don't blame my parents, they were just doing what they thought was best, but from that point on there was a pressure to conform.
