Elder Holland Tempe Arizona Devotional - "Don't you dare bail"

At 2:10 - "Don’t you dare bail. I am so furious with people who leave this church. I don’t know whether ‘furious’ is a good apostolic word. But I am. What on earth kind of conviction is that? What kind of patty-cake, taffy-pull experience is that? As if none of this ever mattered, as if nothing in our contemporary life mattered, as if this is all just supposed to be “just exactly the way I want it and answer every one of my questions and pursue this and occupy that and defy this – and then maybe I’ll be a Latter-Day Saint”?! Well, there’s too much Irish in me for that."

And it really helps that the audience laughs. Talk about self-fulfilling prophecy. Pride of the people and its leaders. This does nothing but take the love out of anything Chriat teaches. And provides justification for the shunning and shaming of family and friends who leave or even have questions. In my view this is nothing but a form of radicalized Christianity that is moving further and further from the actual Christ.

Empty and hateful admonitions from those crooks who want to retain hostages to maintain a multinational corporation whose sole purpose is to create more power and money under the disguise of good intentions...Descpicable words from a neanderthal CEO

I just forwarded this video to a dear friend of mine...

Back in the day, she was a single mother with three kids working as a secretary at BYU under the direction of Jeffrey Holland.  She knew Jeffery Holland personally (grew up with him in St. George), but she obtained her position as a secretary without the knowledge or help of Elder Holland.

As a secretary, she was hit on repeatedly by a married, priesthood-holding Dean (withholding his name until my friend gives me permission to divulge it). She steadily grew more and more uncomfortable, so she went to her supervisor about the situation. Her supervisor (also, name withheld) was the administrative secretary to Elder Holland.  Elder Holland instructed his secretary to return to my single-mother friend (Elder Holland's childhood friend), and fire her, to protect the Dean and BYU's reputation.  Let me reiterate, HE FIRED THE SINGLE MOTHER OF THREE BECAUSE SHE DID DARED TO "CHOOSE THE RIGHT".

From that day forward, this woman was set on a extremely difficult path, and her life has been HELL...and it all started from the very unfair and unfortunate decision of Elder Holland.  In my letter to the Quorum of the 12 Apedophiles (regarding the molestation of my daughter by my General Authority father-in-law, I cited this event of Elder Holland's--from which there was no reply.

This video shows the fake, cowardly nature of Holland who through a victimized single mother under the bus to keep his administration at BYU squeaky clean.  This cowardly man (who, in this video, acts "furious" but is only doing so to "get laughs" is as fake as the eyelashes on Tammy-Fae Baker.  He is a fraud.  And until he steps up and answers to this charge (and who knows how many countless others), he will always be A FRAUD--just another wacko evangelist.

Nice argument ad hominem, Elder Holland.  The problem is with you and the Church you go on and on about...figuring we who have moved on, not the Church, are the ones that are broken.  How dare you speak of conviction.  Many of us have given much to the Church and our Mormon religious traditions and heritage for every bit as long as you have---without the results, I must say, that you and yours have promised..  To castigate so unfairly those that plainly (and honestly) disagree with you is certainly beneath your station and an affront to all that you should be favoring:  The free agency of men and women and the God-given ability to think for oneself and not be shoved around by a community of liars.  Most of us don't understand how you can put up with the many "sins" and "foibles" of God's Church...since that's what you think it is (mistakenly).  In consequence, most of us have concluded that you are being disingenuous and to be avoided like that plague, if we are to find happiness.  So...be still thou blasted "furious" tyrant and advocate of the Salt Lake Holy Hegemony (so christened by some of us).  Your speech and manner of speaking offends the tender ones among us...and of such it would be better that the ominous bird of unhappiness poop on your head than we should have to endure your ill-considered diatribes one minute longer.

Ummm...seems to me that they are worried about their $$$ dwindling too.  As more members get savvy and leave their 'corporation' because whistle blowers are chastised and demonized, (yes, they remind me of the corruption in government)  more of their "good little employees that work for nothing, (and actually "pay to work") will start to question and maybe they will leave too... and that scares the HELL out of them...(actually it creates more hell in them...just say'n)

I don't know what is more disgusting, Holland's remarks or the laughter of the audience. Any organization that lionizes an individual, Brigham Young, who forcibly removed Zina Huntington from her lawful husband, and then lived with her without a divorce from Jacob, and then fathered a child by her, has no moral authority in my book.  We were all forced to sit through priesthood and RS meetings and study lessons based on the teachings of this immoral man, and Holland has the temerity to lecture and trivialize us as taffy puller namby-pambies?   At least the Jews, in the mythical OT had the resolve to send a prophet to call David to repentance, Mormons just revere their miscreants (insert Joseph Smith here too).THere are many other examples of other legitimate questions that are not inconsequential fluff.  We are not stupid or petulant children who made this decision lightly, I spent years looking at this question of the church's claims and came to my conclusions once the evidence overwhelmingly tipped the scales against the church. So, Mr Holland I offer to you my best response, a very poignant one fingered salute..

"Don’t you dare bail. I am so furious with people who leave this church. I don’t know whether ‘furious’ is a good apostolic word.

~No, it is not a good word! The new testament said jesus was upset and so he cleansed the temple... Hey dodo what are you cleansing?

But I am. What on earth kind of conviction is that? What kind of patty-cake, taffy-pull experience is that?

~Patty cake/taffy pull? I don't recall those games in the celestial room after having been stripped naked and then oil drops put on my body. I do recall vividly the throat and bowel slashing motions with ritualized abuse threats if I ever divulged temple/masonic rites.

As if none of this ever mattered, as if nothing in our contemporary life mattered, as if this is all just supposed to be “just exactly the way I want it and answer every one of my questions and pursue this and occupy that and defy this – and then maybe I’ll be a Latter-Day Saint”?!

~Yes my life matters. That is why I excommunicated the church. I had to bail out! The boat of mormonism is sinking. When I jumped overboard I found that it was then a submarine as I had to struggle and fight for breath to swim back to the surface. Fresh air invigorates the soul. Truth brightens the world. People that thrive on stale recycled air do not know that they live in a bubble.

Well, there’s too much Irish in me for that."

~Irish? Why claim to be of the lineage of Abraham Jacob and Joseph? Which jowl speaks the language of Love?

I think this is clear evidence that they are running scared.

Many of us, who have left, did so in spite of sacrifice bias and in order to preserve our personal integrity. In this situation Choose The Right apparently only applies if what we see as right is the same as they do. F*** that! I will choose the right in spite of their sorry-ass fairy tale.

These creeps are venerated by the sheeple, while the real heroes are those of us who have risked everything, including our family and personal relationships, to follow our own internal compass and what we see as truth.

Isn't "furious" expressing anger?  A negative emotion spawned of Lucifer?

I am furious with you Elder Holland, for being such a disingenuous ass-kisser.  If hell does exist, I think you should be fearing it much more than those of us who have followed our own internal humanity.

I would only encourage Elder Holland to keep it up, even ramp up the rhetoric, so the world and many of the more reasonable Mormons can see the true nature of this pox on humanity called Mormonism.
