Micah, the question is: If God does exist, how much of His written history is actually autobiographical? Man's misconceptions dealing with his character traits are very likely not his offense. If God does not exist then what is the origin of love. Love is a learned trait. While its most likely true that our bodies evolved from fish and lesser celled creatures, love must be learned. What if, Micah, God simply is in his or her or its purest form, love?

Hi Colleen.  Why must God be the source of love?  I for one think that our natural tendency is to LOVE but that we are taught very quickly from a young age how to hate.  Children naturally express love and only turn to hate when taught or shown the ugliness of hate.  Also, I do subscribe to the feeling that God is in everything and is everything, but not in a personal, intervening God.

@Mustangsally, besides quoting scripture, a book mostly compiled and written nearly 2000 years ago, how would do you personally defend or prove the existence of a fatherly, personal God, with anymore assurance than someone trying to prove there isn't such a being?  Quoting scripture only works if those you are preaching to also give credence to said works.

there is a God because when we christians pray to him he answers our prayers.

I tell you when I pray to the great God of Israel he answers my prayers,

remember friend only a God that exist can answer your prayers and heal you when you need a touch in your body.

let there be no doubt the great God of Israel answers prayers and blesses his children

plus as a christian I go through trials and hard times, but the truth remains there is still a God and he is in control. and I still love him.

it only strengthens me in my christian faith, to see how our God the great God of Israel is going to deliver me from certain situations and to bless me to show his might and power.

we know that all things work together for good for those who love God,who are called according to his purpose romans 8:28

,we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God romans 3:23,

remember only God is good.

The King Will Judge All People

The Son Of Man will come again in his great glory, with all his angels. He will be King and sit on his great throne,All the nations of the world will be gathered before him,and he will separate them into two groups as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

The Son Of Man will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the King will say to the people on his right,Come my father has given you his blessing, receive the kingdom God has prepared for you since the world was made. matthew 25:31-35

the God of abraham, isaac and jacob,is the great God of Israel,he is the God of us christians.

he is the God of the holy bible

There is a God

God's anger is shown from heaven against all the evil and
wrong things people do,by their own evil lives they hide the
truth,God shows his anger because some knowledge of him has
been made clear to them, yes God has shown himself to them.
romans 1:18-19

There are things about him that people can not see-his
eternal power and all the things that make him God,but since
the beginning of the world those things have been easy to
understand by what God has made,so people have no excuse for
the bad things they do romans 1:20-21

the greatest gift of all is love 1 cor 13.

we born again christians love all of you.

Awesome video, Micah! Thanks for sharing this. This is exactly how I feel.

Mustangsally, it seems you are more interested in converting others to your views rather than proving your point with non-anecdotal and verifiable evidence.  Answers to prayer are very easily dismiss-able to confirmation bias; you remember the prayers that seem to have answers and forget the ones that don't.  It's good and fine to share your feelings of Jesus and the biblical God in the Ex-mormon's to Christ group, but in the general forum and comments outside of that group, it's expected that we each respect that we are here as a safe haven from any who would attempt to proselytize, preach, judge and convert us, regardless of the organized denomination.

Therein Mustangsally, what you have done; You have proven you have a confirmational bias. You believe in an untestable "proof." As you are unable to think critically, so be it. You did what you believe is right, but is so wrong on so many levels.

one thing I have to add. @Mustangsally, think about this; what you believe is based on what you learned growing up. What do you think you would believe if, by sheer chance, you grew up in the Muslim world. You think you would be believing in the Christian God? There is a minority of those in every region of the world, who choose to believe in the minority religion. In other words, people tend to believe what they were taught growing up. Rather than think, "aha, see, some people (those who are Christian in a Muslim world)get it." If you actually learned the stories of those folks, you would find that,THEY LEARNED WHAT THEY DID GROWING UP IN THE GROUP THEY GREW UP IN.
