I am a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And this website is a hurtful thing to everyone who believes in The Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, all of the former Prophets, and most of all people who believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave His life for all of us, including all of the members on this website. All of the members on this website know deep down that this is the true church. You know it. And no matter what you do, say, or post, out Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will love you no matter what.

John 3:16-

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Ha!  My Jehovah's Witness pal was over yesterday, and as usual, we were bantering scriptures, and then it hit me!  I said, you guys would never baptize me.  I'm a democrat.  That's right.  You have to publically disavow all political parties and movements to play with the Witnesses.  Did you guys know that?

Boy oh boy, I'm glad you remind me of these things.  Not like I'm gonna join the Witnesses or anything, but they have excuses for just about everything you can ask them.  I think they are far better at fooling people that the mormon missionaries.  The other day, Jennifter, the JW girl who comes twice a month, was surprised when I told her they'd never baptize me there anyway.  I told her I was a card carrying democrat, and was politically involved on a local level, and had no reason to believe I shouldn't do that.  Try as she might, she couldn't sway me.  Personally, I think they take the lazy way out of many things.  I told her I'd come to one of her meetings if she'd come to one of mine.  I go to a Presbyterian church.  Of course, they'd disfellowship her if she did that, so it would never happen.  Isn't that interesting when an outfit tells you how much of your daily life they are in control of?  Does mormonism ring a bell?  Jeez.

Proudmormon,

What a timeline!  You joined the site, perhaps glanced at a few posts then posted this minutes later.  And you've yet to return!  You should have chosen the user name proudcoward.

I'm having a slight emotional reaction to this because frankly, what you said combined with where you said it was quite rude!  I don't go to pro mormon boards and tell everyone that the church is offensive and that deep down they know the church is a farce.  Why not?  Because I'm not an asshole.  If your Church makes you happy, fine.  That's great!  But if what you believe causes you to be rude to others, fuck you. I hope irritating things happen to you regularly.  (I'm not a very mean person)

Proudmormon, What ever happened to encouraging people, and not engaging in fighting with them?

I'm Unitarian Universalist, and I'm pretty sure God only accepts us Unitarians.

Phoenix, I'm guessing you meant the last comment sarcastically.

People actually think this way, though. No joke, I know someone who is Mormon who talked about wanting to go on a mission to Tibet to share the gospel with the monks and the Dalai Lama. If I were to meet the Dalai Lama, I would want to bring a notebook to write down what he was teaching me, but so many Mormons feel they know everything!

Um, Jane, were you talking to me, or to Proud Mormon?  My brain's slowing down, and if I offended, I'm sorry.

This site is hurtful to Mormons? Mormonism is hurtful to Mormons. This is a place where people come to be healed. Welcome, proud mormon. May you return often. Perhaps eventually, you will open up to us and let us heal some of your own wounds.
