I just got sick and tired of the LDS Leadership pissing on my boot and telling that it is rain. I am not stupid, and neither is anyone here.
My mother is a mental patient. I grew up in Government Projects and Food Stamps. We had years and years of council sessions. Mental illness is a family issue even tho it is a personal problem. I learned to not let others define who, what or where I am IN ANY FASHION. They learn your buttons, and you learn the response. it is a form of abuse, similar to prostitution or drugs in nature. One time while in the Bishops office he was inquiring about another persons habits. I saw this person in Church and nowhere else. I just got fed up and told him that his line of questioning was offensive, and if he needed to pry into others lives he needed to call that person himself. His eyes got big as silver dollars, then he got angry. I told him that I was not intimidated and if he said one more word I was calling the cops and the Stake President. I thanked him for his time and I excused myself. Later, after Sac Mtg I walked by him nd he looked me in the eye and said "Is the Lord blessing you today". I looked him in his eyes and told him, "Yes, did he has the Stake Presidents number". I looked at him in the eye until he looked away first. Later, after my mistaken years as a Missionary I went to work here as a Union Organizer in Vegas.

Human life is important. Only an asshole in the Church Building in Salt Lake would tell someone to pray when an extended hand would do more and faster. People need people, a pat on the back, or sometimes just your ear and heart.

Dan,
If your views are accurate then living each moment is more important than ever. When the song stops playing, the dance is over in your view. And you have the right to your view. If your view is inacurate, God / Jesus will understand and put their arm on your shoulder.
Who da hell ever sayds "I love you and created all this for you, and if you do not believe in my love I will burn your ass forever." One side of the idea does not balance with the other side.
A whole lot of what we have been taught is shit, ...pure stinky shit. Believe in what you need to and know that others care, and you still important!!

You may not have realized that it was a sin. Sin is an old word for "you do that something will swoop out of the sky and beat the shit out of you". I don't get to caught up in "sin" vs "Not Sin". To do so allows others to redefine the word, to move the goal post when ever they want something. It encourages manipulation.

I define things in terms of "correct behavior" vs "incorrect behavior". If I treat others ~right it is impossible to "sin". I aloso believe in revenge. The reason that people leave others alone is that they know you will knock the shit out of them if they don't. Prayer, love for your neighbor had nothing to do with anything when someone did you wrong, correct. If they knew you'd knock their ass in the dirt they'd leave you the hell alone, right!

Just focus on the right and leave that sin crap for the old farts in Salt Lake to use as a tool to manipulate others..
Just my humble view :)

...so, if you don't like pasta sauce made with tomatoes then alfredo sucks just as bad? Find a shoe that fits. If atheism fits, wear it as well, and with a smile :)

I tried out Buddhism a couple of years ago, just before returning to the lds church, and found I loved the meditation but couldn't feel comfortable with part of their teaching regarding good or bad karma coming with you when you're first born..can't remember the word they use!! I think I'm more drawn towards Wicca and Paganism than christian religions these days, as I was in the early 80's just after I stopped attending the lds church at that time too.

Don, as usual you speak a lot of sense..thank you..I always feel better after reading your posts.

Dan, you make Biblical Studies sound very interesting, I wonder if there's a way to do that without having to take any exams in it? I'd love to discuss the history/politics etc. surrounding the writings of the Bible.

I appreciate that. I may also be sharing a load of hors crap. :) It is just how I feel on issues. People are 100% more important than things. And I bear you my testimony that Salt Lake is run by old men that believe they are always right. We used to call it pushy and self centered.

ou can be a great person, a valuable person and be free of the strings (Liliputians and Gullivers Travels) that they want on you for their benefit. Is God real, I say yes, but he is not part of this horse shit Salt Lake has pouring out of the Church Office Building! :) He is supportive, loving and does not point a wagging finger at you. He's got your back.

Thanks for your kind comments.
Pax Vobiscum,
Don

Pushka, I'm leaning towards Paganism and Wicca, myself.

I'm leaning on the wall eating a sugar free cookie and some hot lipton tea! I am soglad that the apostles never said leaning was wrong. I just don't know what I would do if it was "bad".

@DiamondWoman, you remind me of something my hubby just said yesterday. I was telling him of the friend who was looking for a church for me and he said, my church is right here. He was pointing to his seat on the couch, where he plays on his computer and watches TV! LOL!
