Newsweek Magazine shares pieces of our ex-Mormon story in "When the Saints go Marching Out"

Hot off the press from Newsweek comes a ~3000 word piece on what it's like for those of us who question the LDS church and leave.  I found the article fairly well written and not particularly biased one way or the other.  Miet does a good job sharing stories from several ex-Mormons on different aspects of leaving, covering some of our challenges and also some of our new explorations.  Some may find the article affirming of Mormon perceptions of what ex-Mormons are about.  I don't think it…

Doubt your Doubts- a personal examination of Uchtdorf's talk

                Doubt your doubts

“Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith,” Deiter F. Uchtdorf said on October 2013 during his general conference talk titled ‘Come, Join with Us’. The talk itself is an invitation for people to join the LDS church; those who aren’t members yet, those who were members but left, and those who are members but are considering leaving the church. After reading the talk over it seems to me that Elder Uchtdorf is…

Suicide is more than just ending your own life.

Today has been really sobering to me, the first thing that happened when I woke up was that a person who I used to watch videos of and admired greatly, not just because of the quality of his videos but for the genuine kind, and passionate personality that was behind them, had committed suicide the night before.

Justin Carmical, who went by the name Jew Wario online had locked himself in his bathroom and had shot himself. To his fans and everyone around him, there really…

Hello Life After Mormonism Community.

One week of Gay Marriage in Utah - an ex-Mormon's perspective of the aftermath

Micah McAllister - MikeUtah

Marriage Equality arrived to Utah on December 20th, 2013 when U.S. District Judge Robert Shelby ruled Utah's 2004 constitutional amendment that defined the only legally recognized union as being between "one man and one woman" unconstitutional, siting the U.S.…

OK, So What, Then, Is The Truth?!!

Here is the question former Mormons must ask themselves:  OK now that I realize all the basics of God and Religion I was taught are false, what the hell is the truth?  It's like, you're traveling to Boston, take a wrong turn somewhere, and find yourself in some strange town in Ohio that you know for certain isn't Boston. Do you just say, woops, and keep driving, hoping you eventually get where you want to be?  No, you get out a road map and figure out where you turned wrong. If only it were…

Public Mormon Postimony of Dissent - 2008; Released 2013

It does take time to heal and courage to continue come out of the closet, as I live in Utah.

I have moved on as much as possible.  And now, I'd like to share this.

This final public testimony was given in February of 2008. In February of 2008, I decided to officially resign from the LDS church. After years of True Belief and Temple Ordination, Shedding the Cloak of Indoctrination and leaving the bitterness behind me is a wonderful journey. This was the start of my…

Heya Followers!

Thank you for joining my "new" church insomuch as I took the Sitting on Gold Throne God-entrusted liberty and baptized you ALL by username proxy.  I suggest if you are reading my words, the spirit has whispered to you of the importance of an open-vault policy in regards to your beliefs.  I'm glad you have finally found the link to truth.  The one that has been missing. Martin MacNeill convicted

just saw on the news that this prominent mormon doctor and bishop was convicted for killing his wife so he could keep his mistress. apparently his daughters were cheering for his conviction. there is plenty of history in the church of leaders using their power to dominate women for sexual exploitation. the culture of women being subservient encourages this kind of behavior. Im sure the LDS higher ups are cringing about this case. he must have thought he could get away with it. lets see what…
