Once upon a time, I was a missionary in one of the highest baptizing missions in the world. You see, as an LDS missionary, your heart is set on converting even just one soul to the Gospel of Mormonism during your 18-24 months. In many missions around the world, you're lucky to even get that one savory experience. When I arrived to Santiago Chile towards the end of April…Continue

Hey Guys, it's been a while, but I'm starting to struggle with telling people (friends on FB mostly) that I'm no longer involved in the church.
Being roughly two years since I returned from my mission, I've decided it's finally about time to share my "awakening" experience and relevant thoughts.
I did it without the internet. Just studying the scriptures during my mission I noticed lots of inconsistencies and flat out insane crap that Mormons believe. After I spent a while reading the Old Testament I couldn't even believe what I was reading anymore. Besides being utterly cruel , it was far from anything feasible, even with…Continue

I share my own story of leaving the LDS church.

It kinda sucks how Mormonism stole so much from our lives. With all that time spent on a mission and at church meetings so much could have been accomplished! Two years is long enough to make $100,000 for many people. Family bonds are smashed to pieces all the time because of Mormonism. It's regrettable; enough even to make you want to grab Eyring by the balls and squeeze 'em until his eyeballs pop.
One of my greatest hopes is to become a billionaire someday and provide the kind of…

My TBM wife and I are moving from our home in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex to northern Colorado. The moving van arrives Monday and will load all our belongings, except what we would prefer to carry ourselves in our 5x8 cargo trailer and Dodge Grand Caravan. We will drive to Salina, KS on Tuesday and spend the night. Wednesday we will finish the drive, arriving at my in-laws' home, where we will stay until we find our new home.
My in-laws are facing the challenges of…Continue

I don't know how many of you are familiar with Single Dad Laughing. He writes a pretty good blog, generally never touches on topics of the church.
But today he did. It's pretty great. I feel like it summarizes how many of us feel about temple weddings.
And, of course, there are plenty of comments to troll. Enjoy.

Yesterday was a very interesting day. I left the church in December of 2013. My wife had stopped attending a year or so earlier. I have lived in this area over twenty years and I have served in a bishopric, high council, elder's quorum president, and other callings. However, for the last three to four years I started studying Mormonism, its history, and other information, along with an in depth examination of religion in general, as well as evolution and the origin of the universe. I…Continue

Hey Guys, I need your advice on dating and marriage outside the church, I'm completely new to this so I feel completely lost and clueless. Any advice or help is welcome!!
I'm new here, so am keen to make new friends and share experiences. I suppose my profile is also online, but also feel free to introduce yourself or chat.
Does anyone have any experience of it taking time to adjust to new mindset and form new relationships after leaving Mormonism? It seems that patterns have a tendency of recurring (or swinging to an opposite extreme - e.g. reacting to something rather than setting one's own course) prior to settling into a healthy, balanced middle-ground.
Difficult to relate to Mormons fully because I don't share their foundational beliefs and even harder to relate to non-Mormons who can't…Continue

Decided it was time to give my opinion on this, though I've found that it applies to more than just the LDS faith.
Thanks for your continued support guys!

So my younger brother sent in his mission papers and is getting ready to go on a mission. I told him that he needed to have a talk with me before he went but I don't really know what I should talk to him about. I came home early from a mission because I couldn't justify telling people that they should believe in the church. I think that the main reason I went in the first place was because I don't know what I wanted to do with my life and it seemed like it was a good opportunity to go…Continue
Writer's Note "This was a term paper I did in college and it has a lot of good information about tithing and how televangelists and their mega-churches scram people out of money out of fear and guilt. It also has information on how to know if a charity is really a charity."…Continue
