Just some thoughts

I was looking for a radio station in the Baltimore-Washington area to listen to online, the web site that I found had many different radio stations, one is The Mormon Channel. I could not resist listening to it for awhile. They have a program dedicated to members of the church bearing there testimonies. They of course, had a missionary couple serving in the Salt Lake area in the Real Estate department of the church. First thing, I had no idea they had missionary opportunities for people to… Continue

Friends and Mormonism

Since I have left the church, the majority of my Mormon friendships have disappeared. I am not surprised. One of my friends asked me how a returned missionary, who has gone through the temple leave the church. So, I told him. I highlighted some mormon history, lack of DNA, lack of geography, Brigham Youngs famous words about blood atonement, and the list went on. Well, I think that frightened my friend. About to leave for the airport - Going to SLC

I am sitting in my apartment trying not to chew my fingernails off. I am going back to Utah to spend time with the family for two weeks over the holidays. I have not seen them for about 8 months and this is the first time that I will be seeing them face to face since we started having conversations about why I am leaving the church. Things are very bipolar. Sometimes my family seems ok and we have normal calm conversations about normal things (work, school, whatever). Other times the… Continue

I Was the Poster Child for the Perfect Mormon Girl

I was the poster child for the perfect mormon girl. I was always the one called on in primary to give the long talk. I was beehive president, mia maid secretary and laurel president. I was even the president of my seminary class. I was put in charge of every possible service project that came up. But, I had questions. Every bishop's interview would end with "you just have to have faith that it is true," I was never given a straight logical answer to valid questions. I was always academic… Continue

RS Pres (s)hit list

She really is a nice lady, I tell myself that every time she call, drops by, or sends a note.

Really, her heart is in the right place.

She is just doing her job, after all her heart tells her that god will hold her accountable for not trying to get my ass in a pew every Sunday.

From her standpoint I am a poor dammed apostate, destined to spend eternity in the company of Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and those dirty Pagans.

I tried to tell her politely that I was not interested,… Continue
