Milk before Meat or Bait and Switch

So one of my main problems with the church is the whole policy of “Milk before Meat” or as I like to think of it “Bait and Switch”. For example, missionaries won’t tell investigators that Joseph Smith was killed in a firefight in which he maimed and killed people. Or that Elohim had sex with Mary, or that Black people were, for approximately 7,000 years, considered to be inferior to Caucasians due to the choices of Cain, Ham, and their position during the “war in heaven”. They will tell you…

Boof of Mormon: Never Gonna Give You Up!

When I served a mission in Argentina I wrote tons of stuff in the BoM's that I handed out. Places to read and stuff. But now that I look back, I might as well have been Rick Rolling everybody. The blank page at the front should have said:

Never gonna give you up

Never gonna let you down

Never gonna run around and desert you

Never gonna make you cry

Never gonna say goodbye

Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

It would make an awesome April…

Okay so I mentioned my calling on the discussion board. I'd like to talk about my ex hubby's calling here. He got a calling where he had to check the stake building to see if there were any problems and if cleaning suplies needed to be ordered. He also had to check to see if any bread had been left over from sacrament and all the bathrooms for trash in the trash cans. We sared our stake building with three other wards and the last ward of the day was always forgetting to take the trash out…

Howdy, Howdy, Howdy.

Well this is the start of my journey of becoming an ex mormon. *Party hats.*   This blog will have my varying opinons on things, my search for a new church, and general randomness will ensue. As one of my WoW friends likes to say /Drink. Well Dany out.

Joseph's young wife

I don't think Joseph had only one illegal underage wife.  I think he had several.  It's been too many years since I read Todd Compton's book, but I think I remember him going into great detail about Joseph's need for young blood.  And his ability to take other men's wives from them, under the guise of giving those women assured salvation.  One saving feature for me, since my dad is the only tbm left in my family, is him telling me the polygamy would have been a deal breaker for him, and that…

my old testamony

I watched a few videos on you tube about the musical The Book of Mormon.  I think they missed the mark.  The main song is "I Believe"  The Mormons don't believe a dang thing.  They know it all.

Things I knew:

I knew I was a spirit brother of Jesus. I knew I was a spirit brother of Lucifer as well. I knew I fought on the winning side when civil war broke out in the preexistence I knew "the fall of Adam" was a good thing. I knew Mary's conception was not supernatural, but…

Gabrielle, I heartily agree with you on your assertion that much emphasis is placed on satan.  Consider he is mentioned a mere 17 times in the bible.  I think many people use it to explain away poor behavior, like famous preachers who get caught with their pants down.  Or, Ted Haggard, who blamed satan for tempting him with other men, since he's not gay.  Not gay my ass.  He wouldn't have those feelings if he wasn't gay, and the devil ain't got nothin to do with it.  And I take full…

Thou Shalt Not Kill

In the greek sense of the word kill, used biblically, to cause harm to another's feelings, or sense of worth, could be used as killing him/her.

Bar, You mentioned an interest in the book I saw at my pagan shop, and I'm planning a trip there tomorrow to try and snag the book, if it's still there.  It's called "Jesus", and I'll get back to you with the author's name.

Warren Jeffs

He's entering the court room for the sentencing phase.  The women of that outfit should be on trial as well, especially Naomi, his first and only legal wife who took priesthood notes, and made a taping of him raping two girls, 12 and 14, respectively.  If they go after those women, who readily turn their children over to pedophiles, then something might actually be done.
