It seems to me that a good deal of apologetic for the church essentially boil down to the old phrase "that was then this is now". When I've had talks with Mormons about things like blood atonement or Blacks and the priesthood the answer is usually that we have more knowledge now or that we should trust contemporary prophets rather than older ones. Offended by the Church

Many people who go from activity to inactivity in the church, or even leave entirely are usually though of as being thin skinned. As if the only reason a person would leave the "Church" is because they are easily upset or offended. I have even been told that I probably was offended and that is why I am an Atheist. Life after mormonism
