autobiography of Ann Eliza Young

I just finished reading the autobiography of Ann Eliza young entitled "The 19th Wife". I ordered the book from the Utah Lighthouse ministry in SLC. I left the LDS church at age 20, fifty years ago and have read a number of books that criticize their doctrine. The book written by Ann Eliza is important because it is a record of the history of the church from its early years written by someone who was actually there and was not afraid to tell the truth. The book is a little disorganized and…See More

BYU tv

As part of my tv setup I get BYU tv. It has been many years since I have been to the lds church. Sometimes I watch a segment, just to see what they are saying. I am fascinated to see those pious elders and scholars discussing various aspects of Joseph's life and his writings. It is pretty much brainwashing. They wouldnt dare tell the real history of the church. Today anyone who wants an accurate accounting can go to the Utah Lighthouse Ministry for information. I have purchased a number of…See More

I spent a lot of time in summer around Provo. my cousin, the tbm to be and bishop were childhood friends that enjoyed fishing, swimming and just having a great time. this was 1950's. the area was very rural and productive, consisting mostly of irrigated farms. it seemed like paradise to me since I was living in L.A.

I just drove to Moscow, ID thru the salt lake valley. I was shocked and appalled by the changes. I suppose those of you who live there may be aware of this, even if you were not… Continue

Dear xtranch,

Having been raised in a family of six with a single mother (my dad left us six months after my mother had her last child), i am can only agree with you that having a great number of childre is not the most sensible and intelligent things to do .

`

My opinion is that it is best to have 2 or 3 that you can properly take care of and look after and whom you have really decided to have than to have more that you abandon or dont take care of ... and the overpopulation aspect is also a very serious one ..
