"What ward were you in in Cheyenne? We lived there 1996-2005, and I have boys not much younger than you. We were in the buffalo ridge ward."

"I didn't follow the WOW when I was a member, except for the two years I was on a mission, and I don't follow it now. Although I think I am in better control now that I am out of the church than I was when I was a member! As a teenager, and…"

"@ Gypsy You asked Edward how he deals with the anxiety that is caused by not believing in an afterlife, but I think I have a good answer for you. I myself don't believe in an afterlife at all. At first it haunted my mind, and I hate thinking…"

"Edward, I think you make a good point. I believe religion has served a social purpose. It gives order and comfort. It all boils down to death. Because we are self aware, we also realize that we are going to die. It is a frightening thought to think…"

Profile Information

Relationship Status (single, partner, etc):

My Story:
I was raised a mormon in a very active family. I spent my childhood trying to please my parents and church leaders and I served as deacons and teachers quorum president, and priest quorum assistant. I went on a mission to Argentina and returned about a year and a half ago. As a teenager I questioned the church vigorously, but it wasn't until I was on the mission that I discovered that my questions would never be answered because the church, and religion in general, did not hold the answers. I am now a strong atheist, working and going to school to become a chemical engineer.
Interests and Hobbies:
I love all outdoor activities, especially swimming. I love jumping off cliffs into rivers and lakes, skydiving, hiking etc.. I also enjoy video games and movies. And I really want to do a lot of traveling throughout my life.
Favorite Books:
The God Delusion: By Richard Dawkins
Favorite Movies:
Inception
Slumdog Millionaire
Favorite activity after mormonism?
Enjoying life without having a cloud of guilt constantly hanging over me!
