"There is ZERO, absolutely NO correlation between "weak father" and homosexuality. Pscyhologists tried for nearly 60 years to prove even a correlation, and there IS NONE.

"NARTH is a discredited pseudo-scientific organization run by anti-gay evangelical Christians who want to cure you of being gay, as if it were a disease. I strongly urge you to look to more reliable sources with the backing of the scientific…"
Hello,Some of you may know me as cumom (mythical beast from the Book of Ether) from FLAK or the former View from the Foyer. I have been in the past a frequent participator there. I'm a sociologist and have started a new research project about people who make big cultural shifts during their lifetimes, and one of the groups I will be researching are people who left Mormonism. I'm looking for about 10 men and 10 women to participate; all participants' identities will be protected and anonymity…See More
Mormon stuff: left the church at 26 for ethical reasons (found out about the history stuff later); RM, MTC teacher, BYU alum; great great great grandparents joined the church in Denmark and immigrated to Utah, ending up eventually in Mexico in the Colonies.
Regular stuff: 39 y/o, gay, social science professor...Why is this starting to feel like a personal ad?
Interests and Hobbies:
hiking, running, rugby (only watching now, I'm too old), reading, movies, cooking for friends (not that great at it, but I love it), politics, etc. Looking to revisit my first love from before my mission, music (piano and guitar).
too many to list. literally 1000s. Better to list what I'm currently reading as of 3/09: Biography of Edward Carpenter, History of India, The Name of the Wind. None of these are "great books", just what I'm reading now.
Priest, Color Purple, Beautiful Thing, Ratatouille, Full Metal Jacket, Wings of Desire, Brokeback Mountain, Die Hard IV (so shoot me, I love a good hollywood action film), etc.
Favorite activity after mormonism?
same as before; see interests and hobbies above. I suppose I could add drinking good wine, smoking cigars, and having sex; but isn't that obvious, and also, so *normal* outside of Mormonism as to be too banal to mention.
