Profile Information

Relationship Status (single, partner, etc):
married for 45 years
My Story:
I was "born under the covenant to wonderful parents who were themselves from pioneer stock. I went on a mission (1963-65) to the Eastern Atlantic States, got married in the temple and was happy and active in the church all my life up till about 2001 when I decided that I simply did NOT believe in the Biblical and LDS creation story, the Flood of Noah, and nearly EVERYTHING that I had tried to believe all my life. Over the course of the next 8 years, I stopped callings, my activity in the Church and resigned in 2008 and feel like a stone has been taken from my mind. I can look at astronomy, archaeology, death, and theoretical physics without trying to believe in an invisible homosapien God looking down from Kolob trying to judge and micromanage the weather and all humans.

Interesting about the WOW.  I've been a vegetarian for quite some time, and my health has improved.  I don't drink, but believe in medicinal marijuana, and believe it should be decriminalized.  Not that I'm morally opposed to a drink here and there, and a good barbecue for those inclined, my personal path just went this way.  I followed my buddhist daughter into vegetarianism.  I've often wondered if my life would have been better initially had I married the returned missionary who proposed to me.  He was much kinder and more tender than the jerk wad I wound up marrying because he made good money and I knew we'd have good looking half brown kids.  Life was tough with him, and it wouldn't have been than nasty with the RM, but, would I have eventually questioned everything I ever learned at church?  I often wonder.

A walk sounds good.  I may get over to lava one of these days if my dentist doesn't take all my $$$.  I'd also like to hear your wife play, if she doesn't mind another ex-mormon in the house.

Welcome to LAM Thayne. I've been reading your blog. It's interesting. I'm two years older than you, and live in Pocatello. I was a believer for about 55 years. I'm now an atheist.
Just saw you as a youngster. Attractive kid.
