I grew up Mormon in a very Mormon family. We were raised to believe we were the best mormons out there as well.
My senior year really started the questioning for me. I was diagnosed with a chronic disease that I was told would go away if I had enough faith by my parents. I caught on pretty quick that that was. I'll shut.
My brother also came out that year and my family banned him from their home and told him he was better off dead. I chose my brother over church and that created a huge divide in my family.
Those are just a few of the things that caused me to stop believeing in the church. I eventually found the CES letter and that confirmed to be that it was all a lie.
my husband ended up reading the CES letter more recently and has come to the same conclusion.
