End Times Tirade

Posted on December 17, 2011 at 3:00am 15 Comments

The home teachers came by a few days ago and we (my mother, her parents, and I) had a lovely chat, even though I don’t agree with their beliefs. However one thing that came up struck me as odd, to understand it here’s a little background. My grandmother is what I would call a Mormon survivalist. She is 73 and has told me she won’t die, but that she’ll be “twinkled” and she oftentimes brings up the fact that one day we are all going to head back east to Missoura, yes Missoura, to build up…

Eternal Regression Ramble

While I was still a Mormon I had an interesting thought cross my mind. Why do we worship Elohim? Elohim was once a man, and had a father-god of his own. Why do we not worship him, because without this God neither Elohim nor we would exist?  Better yet why do we not worship this God’s father, Elohim’s grandfather? Following this vein, why do we not worship the very first God, the ultimate creator and the guy who set all of this up? However this original God is never talked or even thought…

This thought has been bouncing around in my head for a few years now; I was even chided for bringing it up by a devout, yet short tempered Mormon. Here is a list of similarities I have found, please feel free to correct or add.

  • A thousand year empire
  • Over the entire earth
  • Ruled by one…

Two Plans and some ass-kissing

Posted on October 3, 2011 at 1:00am 2 Comments

So awhile ago I made a post where I examined some ways I used to think as a Mormon and asked the community to respond with their own thoughts. Recently the user Lapsed (thanks for bringing this up btw) made a point about how choosing Satan's plan in the premortal existence sounds better than Jesus'. This made me think about why Elohim chose Jesus over Satan. Satan's plan sounds better. EVERYONE gets to come home and be with Elohim, families can be together forever and all that warm fuzz.…
