Yea I feel your pain.  Just know that it does get easier over time.  Your mind and heart has a way of working things out, just give it time.  What is your story?

My story is pretty much typical these days.  I was a true believer for my entire adult life.  I always threw my doubts of the church back on myself.  The church could never have been wrong, it had to be something wrong with me I thought.  Well after reading for well over 2 hundred hours I cam to the conclusion that the chance for the church to actually be true is so incredibly low that it is not worth my time to invest in it anymore.  Joseph Smith was my hero, the one the church put forth as a prophet. Now Joseph is a narcissistic con man, liar, spiritual predator, sexual predator, manipulator, extortionist false prophet.  I do not see how the modern day church can look at the same history I did and create the unicorn and rainbow story they sent me and thousands of other uninformed missionaries out into the world to share.

Shame on the lds church for lying to me.  Shame on them for perpetuating false stories and myths. And the most damning thing of all, shame on them for holding my heart and family in their clutches and threatening eternal damnation for not paying a full tithe, even if you have not the money to pay due to staggering medical bills.  The bible does not teach that our money will save us, the lds church teaches that.

I do encourage a read of the bible for the first time without the Mormon filter.  You will see that Jesus defined God as a Spirit, and that he said "a spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have".  Yet J Smith said God was not a spirit, but a exalted man that has flesh and bone.  This is a direct contradiction, so the question becomes was Jesus or Joseph right on matters of spirituality?  This is just one of many, as I'm sure you know or will know from your studies.

Please let me know if you need to vent.  I will hear you out.  So sorry about your family, they genuinely believe that Satan is real, so it follows that for you to leave or even question that it musts be him, remember they have made covenants to not speak evil about the Leaders of the church, so you can't expect them to reject God over you, I know it's heartless and they feel it, perhaps they'll listen one day to reason.

I believe the church has created a rough stone rolling from their very lies.  They will suffer fallout from this over the next few years on a massive scale.  People will be online protecting the faith, and will inevitably come across the damning information about the church, and irregardless of spiritual experiences their faith will be shattered, and in time they will be faced with a tough choice just like you.

Good to have you, stay the course, yield to no lies, and don't drink the "cool-aid".

Take care,
Dave
