I am a trial attorney and have been for too many years. I have been on both sides of the bar, representing defendants and plaintiffs in civil litigation. I am originally from Bountiful, Utah, BHS Class of '73, but have spent most of my career in CA. We returned to Utah about 10 years ago, and I was very disappointed. I had hoped that Utah would have developed into a more diverse culture, but it has only seemed to become more polarized along LDS vs. Non-LDS lines.

I can appreciate your concern about the environment. I grew very differently..as a boy I lived in the LA area. no one but me ever went to church. I went to Provo to stay with my aunt for the summer. she was a great lady and tbm. of her children only one turned out to be tbm, a true zealot and enventually bishop. they were very poor and scratched out a living of sorts on their small farm. there was no such thing as going to the grocery store. if you wanted to eat you chopped a chickens head off or went fishing. it was a big adventure for me. we rode freight trains, swam in the river and fished in Utah lake. it was very pastoral and pretty. imagine my shock in seeing the valley two weeks ago, it was unrecognizeable. at least Idaho was still nice. Please look at my photos. the Moab shots are at xtranch.zenfolio.com/Moab. my other pics, including my ranch are at pbase.com/xtranch. I have been to Park city, about 25 years ago. I would love to have a Mormon raised wife, like my mother, who has long since passed. I wouldnt want to put up with all the pressure to con form. yes, there is a ward close to me. I guess I will just remain an old man raising his great grandson. I take him to the Methodist church where he can think for himself. thanks for reading my rants.
