Welfare for Non Members

Posted on January 5, 2011 at 4:34pm 7 Comments

I was having a conversation with a TBM friend recently. We were talking about the church. He mentioned to me that his ward is giving out money to people who are not members of the church. He also said he is in the "Bishopric" and he knows this for a fact, because he is there late at night, on Sundays giving out money. I found this hard to believe, because I have had experiences where I have tried to get help from friends who are not members of the church. The Bishop told m they have to be…

KSL Radio

Good Morning,

I am working away at my desk, and decided to go online and listen to KSL Radio. I was listening to a report on how Internet Spammers are really hitting Utah with Spam. Ok, no big deal. Then they mentioned a name of some guy who was involved in the article and after the reporter said his name he added, "Former Mission President". All I can say is WTF does that have to do with an article on Internet Spamming in Utah? Only in Utah! I only lasted ten minutes listening to KSL… Continue

Reflections on Life

Posted on June 20, 2010 at 10:26am 7 Comments

I have gone through a tremendous amount of change in the past three years. I have been reflecting this morning on how that change has affected me. I have gone through the five phases of grief, brought up old wounds from years past that have not healed, and new wounds created by my exit from Mormonism. I have determined that Mormonism is a religion based on denial. As a Mormon I tried to deny I was human. I tried to be perfect, expected and expected those around me to be perfect. Mormonism… Continue

Abuse and the Mormon Church

Posted on March 15, 2010 at 5:23am 4 Comments

I read a statement that the Mormon Church made about how the local leaders handled Garn's disciplinary situation. It is interesting how they did not mention how Mr. Garn was disciplined. However, they did mentioned that the women involved, who was a young girl at the time of the abuse, that she had an extramarital affair and was excommunicated from the church. That makes my blood boil. I don't know how Mr. Garn was disciplined, however I find it sick, wrong and unfair that the Mormon Church is… Continue

Reflections of my mission president

Posted on February 27, 2010 at 3:22pm 5 Comments

I have been thinking for a couple minutes about my mission presidents. When I arrived in Florida, I did not care for my first mission president. His wife was very nice, but, he bothered me. I was idealistic and believed I was going to go out and serve others and love them into the church. When I arrived, we were ushered to the mission home, and told how important it was that we baptized every month. I was told that if the companionship baptized five people a month you and your companion would… Continue

Have you read "Mormonism, Shadow or Reality" yet? There's lots of good stuff in that book, it's amazing. And, if you want to join the Jesus cult and believe in the "orthodox Christianity" and get saved, the authors will show you how at the end of the book...LOL
Oops, I hope I didn't step on any toes there...but I've become very anti-religious in the last 10 years.

OK...I'll be your friend, but you gotta know something...Joe Budro is NOT my real name...and I have a brother that lives in Philly, who is still a TBM. Alright, that's enough truth for now. LOL
