Henry David replied to MikeUtah's discussion For those who still believe in “God” or “after-life”, what are your reasons?
"I recently read Robert C. Fuller's Religious Revolutionaries, a kind of broad treatment of the evolution of religious thought in the U.S. It helped put Mormonism in context, as well the other major religious movements of the nation from…"

Henry David replied to MikeUtah's discussion LDS Church: Do as I say, not as I do
"You have pulled together some basic truths that I wouldn't have considered seriously a year ago. I will save this as a succinct reply to those who may ask why I am not anxiously engaged finding my way back into full fellowship."

Henry David replied to MikeUtah's discussion OT: Swine Flu "Pandemic" Info. Why not to worry so much

Profile Information

My Story:
I served a mission in Japan, got married in the temple, and had 3 kids. Two are attending BYU. When I first joined this group, my wife was TBM and really upset that I wasn't interested in returning to the fold. Now she has left it herself, although she still attends for the social aspects.
Interests and Hobbies:
I am a perfectly average swimmer, but I still participate in 1 or 2 local triathlons and the Utah Summer Games (swimming). I try to stay in shape, and the aforementioned activities help keep me motivated.
Favorite Books:
My current interests are in non-fiction, so I've been reading a lot about the true history of Mormonism: An Insider's View of Mormon Origins (Palmer); Studies of the Book of Mormon (B.H.Roberts); Cowdery's book on the origin of the Book for Mormon; Jesus Interrupted by Bart Ehrman, and many others.
Favorite Movies:
The Invention of Lying, The Wizard of Oz, Life is Beautiful, Charade, much of Hitchcock's work, and dozens of others
