Hi, sorry only just caught up with the comments. Rescued my dog 10 years ago, he was only 3 months old and had been abandoned in the village. Vet says he's partly Belgian Sheepdog.

Best wishes, Phil

Hi!

In respnse to my posting on the literature forum, and your reply, my FiL is long deceased, but I'd always known he had an abusive temperament towards his family.

Many years later, this has been confirmed to me in correspondence from his daughters, and was more shocking than I'd suspected.

(I had second thoughts, after posting those details, but was angry re-reading the church-speak hypocrisy on "purity of our youth", even though it was half a century ago.)

Your other comment I can relate to, victims carry the scars throughout their lives, and as we get older, and we live in a more open society, it helps the healing process to be

able to confront these issues.

In my own case, I had been aware of institutionised abuse that I suffered. Many years later when the laws changed in this country, we were able to access our personal records, and from reading police and court documents, was able to discover how it happened, and discuss it with my older siblings for the first time.

Sorry to have rambled on, thanks for your help.

Phil

No worries DEEPESA. You can leave the atheist group if you want. I posted the discussion there mainly cause I was interested in what other atheists thought about that position.
