"That was my comment last year, Christina. This meetup is at my house this Friday. I would like Cassie to get the message to come, but I'm not sure how. I am so looking forward to meeting you, Christina!"

I joined the Mormon church in 1982 when I was 20 years old. It was a nice community that I felt comfortable in. My husband converted just before we got married. We raised three children to adulthood. We lived Mormonism to a T: Temple work, callings, tithing, etc. My exit was quick. My husband doubted for quite awhile and then showed me mormonthink.com. My brain did a hairpin turn and I was out! The burdens came off my shoulders! I went and bought coffee and wine and underwear! What freedom I found leaving Mormonism. I dealt with the anger and the grief, though. Finding out you've been deceived isn't fun! Two of our children are still Mormons. One moved to Utah and took her kids. She won't let us visit. One is on a mission. One adult child left the church. We have a young son at home who never bought it and was glad to leave with us.

Hey Cathy, Did you ever find any exmos in San Diego? I live in the Temecula Valley and feel perpetually lonely as I don't know anyone who can remotely understand this huge life transforming experience. I'd love to meet up with or anyone else that lives in or around the area. Much love.
Hey Cathy! I'm sure you'll find a few really good exmo's around the San Diego area. I'm up in the South Bay area.
I can imagine you're in a bit of a shock from learning the REAL truth about the LDS church. Give yourself time to adjust and grieve...it's a tough process. I'm sorry you're friend was so upset by your news but she'll adjust one way or another. I think we all go through huge, difficult transition when the church has been such a massive part of our lives. I hope you'll find the support and friendship here you need to help you on your new journey! Oh! And feel free to PM me anytime! Hugs,
Hi Cathy! Welcome to LAM. Always great to have another person from SoCal on board. I see you have already found the SoCal Exmos group. That's awesome. We have events from time to time that are a lot of fun.
Cathy, Welcome and I am sure we will be having another Southern Cal get together soon. I have many friends that have left in the San Diego are that I can set you up with as well with less of a commute. I will send you a private message with more info.
