Sonoma wines are the BEST!

My wife and I enjoy wine tasting, and maybe it's a consequence of starting late in life (that Mormon thing, you know), but we've concluded that right here in our beautiful California coast is where…Continue

French Mission: French Wine

So, yeah, I'm a French wine snob. Italian, too, but not so much as my love for the French. On Friday night I enjoyed a beautiful glass of Paul Jaboulet Cabernet Sauvignon. Soon, I'll be able to sip a…Continue

Was a very naughty secret wine drinker, even when I was serving on a bishopric many years ago. My work required a lot of socializing, and it was how I grew to love wine.
Am fortunate living in Europe where we probably have the greatest selection of wines from all over the world to choose from.

Supper is always complemented with a bottle of French or Spanish red. Sorry, Leia, I'm not fond of the sweeter wines, so can't offer any great suggestions, but you are probably on the right track with some of the German Rieslings or Mosel varieties.

I love Stella Rosa. I am not a huge wine drinker, though I do love to sample. But I like my wine sweet and Stella Rosa always hits the spot.

Our local winery, Oliver Winery, has pretty good strawberry and black cherry wines.

I absolutely love a good Riesling. Any suggestions?

I've never tried Niagra Semi Sweet. Let me know how it is when you open it. One of my favorite whites is Folie a Deux Menage a Trois White. The threesome consists of a Chardonnay, Muscat and Chenin Blanc. It's wonderful after a long hike on a hot day. Goes down so smooth and easy. Just had a bottle yesterday after hiking The Narrows. Yummy.

I just opened a bottle of Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon. It is not my favorite. I think I'll use this one for my red sauces. It has a lovely bouquet, however. I still haven't found a white wine I like at all. I have one bottle of white that I haven't opened yet and have high hopes. It is a Niagra Semi Sweet. Anyone tried that one?

I want to party with the gods then. Malbec is what I've been drinking lately. :)

Wow Evan. You turned water into wine?
Comment by MikeUtah on July 1, 2010 at 10:24am
That sounds excellent Evan. We've never been to a wine tasting party.

I accidentally turned the water in my hot tub to wine...a watered-down Zin. If I'd pulled off a decent Pinot, I wouldn't have drained it. Anytime the PoMo Wine Aficionados group wants to meet, my mansion is our mansion.
