I wanted to let those who are planning to come to the Conference know that
the deadline for getting rooms at our block rate is September 26th -- only
6 days from now! In the past I have usually been able to get a few more
rooms for people after the deadline -- but this year the hotel is
refurbishing two entire floors of the hotel, and there will be significantly less
rooms available for regular customers, and I don't know if anything will be
available after that date.

Since you don't have to pay until that weekend, I would suggest that you
get those reservations made ASAP.

I would also like to encourage those who haven't registered yet to get that
done as soon as you can. Our Treasurer and Registration people will be
most grateful if it's not all scrunched up the few days before the deadline.
Deadline for registrations through our website AND for receipt of mailed
registrations is October 10th if you want the dinner on Sat. night!!

Tonight I will be hosting a backyard movie event at my house on Friday, July 22nd around 9pm. For movies, we can vote on Inception, Avatar, or Madagascar 2 (if you feel another movie would be more appropriate, feel free to suggest it). There is also a play-ground for little kids if they get bored with the movie. Bring chairs or blankets to sit on if you'd like. A jacket might also be handy if it gets chilly.
