We play the Santa Claus game, still put up the tree, lights, and so forth, but don't include much about Jesus. Hell, this holiday was originally all pagan in nature anyways, if it isn't still, just disguised by Christianity, also a lot of pagan roots.

The kids only believe in Jesus in December. I like that. That sort of thinking allows one to pick and choose among Jesus' teachings too. Blessed are the peacemakers worth remembering.

You know what they say, "Do as thy wilt." I like trees at Christmas so I am going decorate one and put an angel on top, even though I don't believe in angels, except in December.

This is my first Christmas since I resigned and the second since I left. The kids want a Christmas tree and they say they only believe in Jesus in December ;)

I attend Bahai meetings but feel very close to Pagan/New Age.

It really is!!! With the fact that all of our decorations were destroyed by another huge box being set on them I have got to get it all done! :) And everything in order so the kids can have fun decorating!

Hi Lisa,

Sprechen Sie Deutsch? If you do ask some neighbours if it is ok to pick them.

I have just googled "Holly in Germany" and apparently the holly in Europe is not the same same as the holly in the US.

This is what the wikipedia briefly has to say about it...

Viscum album is used in Europe whereas Phoradendron serotinum is used in North America.

European mistletoe, Viscum album, is a poisonous plant that causes acute gastrointestinal problems including stomach pain, and diarrhea along with low pulse.

Hi Carl,

You make me laugh. I can imagine you running from bush to bush to try and find your clothes.....I reckon that would have been hilarious... Seriously though when it got cold and started raining, your buddies could have stopped the joke...

I love skinny dipping too especially on a hot summer's night. It is so refreshing and liberating....

Holly is a large family of trees and shrubs.

Mistletoe grows in trees all over the world, often oak trees.

You can find English Ivy pretty much all over world. They consider it a pest in California. It's a vine that grows up trees and walls.
