Just putting in my 2 cents, because I'm not campaigning for Ladd. I kind of thought the food at Skavone's was C-, and since I don't eat out all that much socially, I'd like to go somewhere that has really good food. But that's just one consideration, and maybe the rest of you don't agree about the food at Skavone's. In all the yeas that I set up a bunch of exmo-gatherings, I learned early on that ending up with a bunch of tables end to end so that you can really only interact with the people right next to you, or across the table, isn't very conducive to getting to know people. I WOULD be nice if we could find a place that has great food and also some sort of set-up where we can be in an isolated corner, or even a small room if they had such, so the noise problem is minimal. But I'll follow the group when I can - no matter where you end up. I do really like the set-up at Ladd's because of not having to be at tables, but .....prob. hard to find..

Personally I was quite happy with Skavone's. It seems easy enough to get to, even though it's a healthy drive for me. It's easy to hear everyone, or at least as easy as most restaurant situations are going to be. It would be great if someone lived in a central location and didn't mind hosting, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I really do like the idea of keeping it in one spot so everyone knows where to be and when with minimal upkeep on invites.

@ Kathy, I think it ended up fine, but I think the search will be on again. It was a sports bar and WAY too loud for the first half hour or so. Or maybe the place is fine later in the afternoon. I'd, personally, like to keep it in the lower address numbers either side of the River though so people don't have to drive SO far.

You can click on "Events" on the menu bar at the top to see calendar events and who has RSVPed, or RSVP yourself. Please let me know if you have further questions.

How did the Blitz work out? What was the general consensus for those who've been to both locations?

Everyone already knows that half the time I don't know what I am doing, or what I am talking about, so it doesn't really matter when I come on these sites and tell everyone that I don't understand anything....TOO FUNNY.
This is the pay off for me aging.....I don't care too much if I look silly. be fair.....maybe just a bit....but most everyone is very kind and understanding of this silly old ladyinahat :)

I think it's confusing also, but I always hesitate to say that about any site, because there seems to always be plenty of people who don't think so. One of "problems" is that I never devote enough time to thoroughly vet a site and learn everything about it. Don't have time!! :-)
Comment by LITH on April 12, 2010 at 7:30pm would not believe how confused I am on this site....there seems to be about four different places here where there is info about the PNW group, and getting together. LessMon has one where you can actually RSVP to the get together, but for the life of me I can't find it today :(...this is where I got the idea that only four people had RSVPed to show up yesterday.
So great to meet up with such a great group of people for us!
There must have been at least ten of us!!!!
Anyway....all I did was muddy the waters here futher. I don't understand any of this.

I reserved the space at Blitz Ladd, and I think there is a newbie coming who I don't think has joined this group yet. I'm looking forward to seeing how this space works out. They did worn me that there's a Blazer game on, and it's going to be very busy there. Kathleen and I are coming -- does that make 6? Ok, teaching time for the "social networking" illiterate: Jenny mentioned that only 4 people were coming. Is there some place we were supposed to go to RSVP? How did you pick up this number -- just from reading the comments? P.S. I told Blitz there would be a minimum of 10 people there. I'll go post this on the NW list again.
