This past weekend we watched "American Beauty" and found it to be funny, interesting, and unpredictable.  Not going to give any spoilers but I found this to be enjoyable and even insightful in the closing dialog and message.

"Lester Burnham, a depressed suburban father in a mid-life crisis, decides to turn his hectic life around after developing an infatuation for his daughter's attractive friend."

I've thought of watching American Beauty, but thought it might aggravate my depression.  However, if it's funny....

Not corny at all Sean.  Thanks for sharing.  I could definitely see how this movie would influence one to stop allowing others to control their lives, and start living instead for one's own self, an authentic life even.  I liked his posthumous epilog at the end too.
