Hi Jason, Robin & everyone. (luv the name Secret Combo - I don't know why I didn't come up with a nifty PostMo name. I could just start calling myself Relief Society President, I guess).

Hope you all enjoyed the holidays! have a great new year, also.

Welcome Jason! there are a few things about buddhism I like as well. I don't believe in Christianity at all. I see myself as spiritual, but not religious. Its nice to feel that sense of freedom isn't it?

To me, one of the best things about being an ex-mo is the open minds. Most that I have talked to respect others in whatever they now believe in. If I did believe in any type of Christian God, it would be along the lines that you have described Becky. This God would love us for who we are, this love would be followed by those that believe this God and there would not be the hate.

I'm still Christian. I still believe in God. To me, there is just too much for there not to be a God. My relationship with him has gotten so much stronger since leaving the church because I understand now how loving, merciful and compassionate he is, instead of a strict, unbending tyrant that requires perfection at all time. I can somewhat understand why people would tend to give up their belief in God after realizing all the untruths of the church, but I just can't give up that belief. I just believe he's there, and it's too much a part of me to deny. I know it's not a popular belief in the post-mormon world, but it's mine nonetheless. :)

So just a curious question for you all. After Mormonism, where do your beliefs stand?

Me, mine keep changing as I study different things. I have a few bigger interests for belief such as Paganism & old time European beliefs but in the end I think that I'm an Athiest.

Welcome Becky! I've been out for 12 or more years, I lose track. The best advise that I can give is to just enjoy your freedom. freedom of thought & mind and even a few actions.

Hi Everyone! I'm new so just thought I'd say Hi! I haven't been to church in over a year, but just within the past 3-4 months, after some major studying, realized the "truth" of the "untruth". It's been, and continues to be, an experience! I'm slowly but surely crawling out of the shell and trying to enjoy some of my newfound freedoms!! So if anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it! Thanks for letting me join your group! Oh yeah, and I have one tattoo as well! Want another soon! It's addictive!

Tammy, I SO hear what u r saying!!! I live in Yakima and trust me the men here r an absolute nightmare!!! I do think its important to find someone who understands the cult of MORmONism, but it makes it very limiting nonetheless. Finding my twin flame is hard enuff without putting up major criteria. It would be nice, yes, but it shouldn't be a requirement.

I understand the desire for "ex-mo compatibility." I think I'm being unrealistic to make this a requirement for a future spouse/boyfriend.

I rarely meet anyone in my area (N.Idaho/Spokane) who lets me know they left the church.

Heck, I have enough trouble meeting men as it is, without adding any more restrictions!
