I occasionally (maybe twice a month) get inquiries responding to the Spanish translations of some of my web articles.   Some are members calling me to repentance, but others are members who are questioning, and who need someone to correspond with.   My Spanish is not good enough to carry on a lengthy discussion.

I would like to compile a small list of exmormon native Spanish-speakers who would be willing to correspond with Spanish speakers who want more information.   Please let me know.

Ricardo, I am near native in Spanish. I would suggest a collaboration of people possibly using Google Docs as the portal. In any event, I should be able to answer most questions. If I don't know a word, I use the online dictionary or ask a few other native linguists what they think. There is also the chance that colloquialisms may throw some people off, so the more linguists we have, the better off we would be.
I don't think it needs to be that complicated (using Google Docs as a portal). All I am asking for is an e-mail address to which I can send people. My response to inquiries from Spanish speakers would be something like this:

If they are interested, I would then contact someone by e-mail from my list and ask if they are willing to correspond with this person (and include the correspondence so far).

PLEASE, e-mail me with your e-mail address privately: packham@teleport.com . (I don't see that this board includes e-mail addresses of posters.)

I would hope that people would avoid regional colloquialisms in such correspondence, but it would be helpful if volunteers would let me know which Spanish region they are from (Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Spain, etc.)
Once we get this site going, you can start directing your questioners here: http://repensandoelmormonismo.ning.com
Mike, that's great, but I need people who are willing to correspond PERSONALLY with Spanish-speaking people.

Just today I got this:

This person doesn't want to be sent to a website. She wants somebody to talk to.

Anybody? Please send me your e-mail address if you are willing to correspond with her.

For the members calling you to repentance, a find that responding with "Que me la chupe Jose Smith" works well, but is incredibly vulgar, and lacks any intellectual fortitude.

For sincere questions and dialogue, feel free to send 'em my email address.

And yup, my keyboard's English, so the accents and other important indicators will be absent from any dialogue. But my castellano is great.

Besitos,

Shamdango

Edited because my English isn't so good. :) lol
´Me encantaría ayudar.

Puedes contar conmigo.

I look forward with great anticipation to the success of this group!  Joseph Smith was never a prophet, but a very misguided boy whose story got bigger and changed with its telling.  He made many prophecies that never came true.

I returned to my Catholic faith after serving a Mission, being Elders Quorum Teacher and Ward Clerk.  Mywelcome was with open arms and hugs, like the Prodigal Son.

If I can be of assistance I would love to be so.  contact me at dstrevel...at...gmail...dot,com.  This website, www.LifeAfterMormonism.com has only started to see the positive benefit it has for others.

Why was the ning netweork page taken down?  Was the LDS Church protesting it the reason???  No one is allowed an opinion or view other than theirs.

Richard: count me in. I just sent you an email for you to have my address.
