Hey, I recently moved to the Denver area from Topeka, KS. I and some guys from PostMormon recently set up a Facebook group for Denver area former Mormons and friends. We have 13 members so far and our first meetup is scheduled for this Tuesday, Feb 12, 2013, at 6pm at the Yard House restaurant in Lakewood. The more the merrier so we'd love to see some of you there. If you want to join the Facebook group so that you can network with us, add me (David Sigmon https://www.facebook.com/david.sigmon ) as a Facebook friend and ask me to add you to the group. It is a secret group so only those who are already members know you are a member of it. I look forward to meeting you!

Sorry for the delayed notice - I posted this to the email list, but forgot to blast it out here on this site...

 

For our July meetup, Carrie has graciously offered to host a BBQ at her home in Littleton. We are shooting for tomorrow Sunday July 24th (Pioneer Day - how is that for irony?) at 5pm. The address is 8881 W. Cooper Ave Littleton, Co 80128.

Pot luck style - so bring your own meat, side dish, and alcohol. We also are a tad short on lawn chairs, so if you have one that would be helpful to bring as well.

Please send me a quick note if you are going to come so we can get a sense for how many people will be coming.

Our May meetup is set - here are the details:

What: May ex-mormon meetup
When: Sunday 5/29 @ 1pm
Where: Brooklyn's - next to the Pepsi Center close to down town Denver
Why: Cuz some of us will be hungry, some of us want to bitch, and hopefully all of us want to chill with good company :)

We have high hopes for the month of May.  Unfortunately my in laws will be in town and I will be entertaining them for the April meet up.  Believe me, I would much rather be exchanging funny ex "whatever" banter at a bbq!!

April meetup is on!

 

Janette has graciously offered to let us have our next meetup/social at her house in Castle Rock. So here are the details:

What: Social meetup with Ex-Mormons, Ex-Scientologists, and hopefully a few Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses this time
When: Friday 4/29 @ 6pm
Where: Janette's house in Castle Rock (RSVP and I will send you the address)
Other details: Janette has a grill, so bring your own meat, and maybe one other food item to share with the group. I am told there are also games and other activities to mix things up a bit as well.

For this coming meetup, we are going to try and keep it adults only. In our experience its just too hard to mingle and share experiences at the level we are hoping when you have that distraction. In a future meetup we may do a play date or a more informal picnic or social where we can have the whole family attend. Sorry, I know that probably puts a kink in your plans - hope you are still able to make it.

Hey guys - our March meetup is on for Saturday 3/26 at 4pm in Broomfield. This will be a BBQ at a private residence so message me directly with your RSVP and I will send you the address. Going to be a more informal mix and mingle kind of deal so I think it will be a lot of fun!
