I wanted to join your group to show my support. I'm stuck in Utah, but I served the mission in Sydney 91-93. Hopefully some of those I misled during that time have been able to make it out.
While I regret the mission, I don't regret being in Oz and getting to know you. Cheers.
G'day Cpt, Welcome to the group. I joined a few weeks ago. I felt really angry when Pres Hinkley lied on '60 Minutes'. Since then the internet has allowed me to find out heaps of things which have shocked me. I have been out for about 20 years too. I am now reading the New Testament after all those years of emphasis on mormon scriptures. I am glad I left.
Hi There. I am new to this group. I want to converse with other Aussies who had converted to the church and had left. I was misguided and became disillusioned with all that hogwash they taught. I wasn't interested in learning about Joseph Smith or prophets who had claimed to had visions about the new revelations. It felt like I was given a lecture about superstitious nonsense and mystical rites. I wanted to know more about Jesus Christ and the Almighty God. In a way I am happier now as a mature man who is much wiser and well informed about the Bible.
I am in Adelaide but went to church in perth. been out for about 20 years and have not connected with any exes until now.
Hey all, Stephen's comment has just reminded me to remind everyone else on this thread that there is a great little active group of Aussie exmos on FB. The group is secret to protect some of it's members who haven't "come out" yet, therefore the group cannot be discovered via a search and you can only gain membership if invited by a member of it. I admin a group that can be found, so if you're on FB here is the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/ExmoAustralia/
just joined this group a couple of days ago. I am an American but have lived in Aus for 7 years now. I lived in Hobart until 2012 when I moved to Brisbane and then up to Gympie last year. I was fairly active when i moved here but have come to pretty much accept that TSCC is a scam. I am in a state of limbo but I'm pretty close to cutting this albatross loose. anyway I love to talk and if anyone wants to get together I'm open (my wife and family are pretty much on board with me in folding up the mormon tent too)
Hey Aussies :) anyone near Perth?
I would love to get together with any EXMO'S if your close by, its a great feeling not to have that BURDEN any longer that the church tries to force on its members.
Hey Everyone, you are all a fair way from me, I am in Newcastle NSW, if anyone is close let me know
