I used to drink alcohol before the church got its hooks into me and I drank way too much at a sitting. Didn't drink every night, but drank until I hardly knew what I was doing. This is dangerous and irresponsible behavior and can lead to some nasty consequences - my son was recently hit by a car after consuming copious amounts of beer; sorry don't know which kind. Our neighbor's son was not so lucky; he didn't survive getting hit by a semi; about 3 or 4 weeks before my son's accident.
So, if we are discussing alcohol, let's just get that out of the way. I think most of us are much more humanitarian than we were as members of the one and only true church, so how would we feel now, if we were driving while impaired; got into an accident and hurt or killed someone; a passenger we love or a stranger. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!
Okay, that is mother's message now, let's talk about good alcohol in moderation.
A couple of months ago I had the first beer that I have ever enjoyed; Alley Kat Amber Beer; sweet with a hint of chocolate. You may think that sounds gross but it was absolutely delicious to the taste and very desirable.
When I went to Africa last year, the first time NOT as a member of the LDS Church I discovered Amarula; Mmmmm! It is a creamy liqueur, rather like Baileys only made from the marula fruit that grows in Africa. It is very potent; 17% alcohol. Tastes wonderful on ice cream and in coffee or on its own. It is an award winner. For a fun video about African animals getting drunk on marula fruit watch:
Oh yes, it is great in eggnog at Christmas time too.
