Even though I haven't been a part of LAM for a very long time, I was very sad to hear it will be closing down at the end of July. I think this was the perfect sight for ex-moromons and I still can't figure out why this isn't the in place to be, even with all of the other competing social sights that ultimately took this away.

I think back to the fun interactions we all had, my enjoyment of being the antagonist at times, which runs oddly counter to my real personality. I enjoyed the character I created, maybe a little too much at times. For those I offended, I do apologize. If I could do it all again, I would have tempered the abrupt nature of Bar Kokhba, but only by a little. I learned so much from being a part of the wonderful people who came and went over the years.

Each and every one of you who came and went had something valuable to add to my life. I thank you all for the fun times, the intelligent conversation and the sense of family created here. More than most, I will miss this site and I'm very sad that it won't be there as a port in the storm for those leaving Mormonism. Thanks to Mike for his long dedication to this site and to those who came here. Obviously I didn't always agree with him, but I never questioned his sincerity or his very real desire to help everyone in transition. Even with the inactivity on this site, I always felt better knowing it existed and I'll be very sad for the day when this is gone.
