I feel shitty about the age change. To it just smacks of FEAR .... What's out there that's so intimidating. Can't we just let our kids grow up, and make a decision to share their believe system when and if they choose. I felt/feel the same way about called young fathers into heavy leadership positions ... It just puts a strain on the family ..

Yes, you're not alone in feeling anger at the church for their constant demands. They ought to be made known as "church first, families last".

Another fine demonstration of the mind games the LDS religion and culture play with its minions. Sad thing is, your ex was 'probably' doing church work some of the time, part of the time he was just avoiding the chore of raising kids. So hard to look back on a life that was lived trying to follow rules that were really to our demise as opposed to our benefit.
